More Magazine "errr's"

Smithsonian often has interesting articles that I'll read.  I have always been intrigued with Rome so this article on the Colosseum was a must read.  Very interesting and informative.  Liked it.  Mostly.  All except on tiny sentence.  Just one.

It's here....in the parenthesis.   Why was that comment needed?    Who decides acceptability with history?   Ticks me off.  

Maybe next month I'll veer from magazines that piss me off!
